Collen Ritzer was a 24-year-old teacher at Danvers High School who was raped and brutally murdered by her then 14-year-old student, Philip Chism.
According to students, Ritzer caught Philip sketching during a Math class earlier in October 22, 2013 which prompted her to ask him to stay behind after school.
It was a decision she didn’t know that would eventually cause her life.
In the CCTV footage, you can see Ritzer walking down a corridor on her way to the bathroom, to which after a few seconds, you see Chism following her, after looking around and putting the hood on his sweater up.
This is where the gruesome crime happened as Chism proceeded raping, strangling, and stabbing Ritzer 16 times with a boxcutter. He then proceeded to load her body inside a recycling bon then wheeled her out of school where police found her body in a shallow grave in the nearby woods.

Chism admitted to killing Ritzer but pleaded not guilty on the grounds of insanity. Massachusetts law stated that a minor trialed for murder was to be tried as an adult. He was later found guilty of first-degree murder, rape and armed robbery for stealing Ritzer’s credit cards and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
