Lupang Hinirang, formerly known as Marcha Nacional Magdalo was composed by the music teacher, Julian Felipe in 1898. The lyrics were written by a poet and soldier, Jose Palma. It has a Spanish (Patria Adorada) and English (Chosen Land) versions but abandoned on February 12, 1998 by the Republic Act No. 8491. (Source: Wikipedia)

In the 1940s up to this day, we are using the 1960s version of the Philippine National Anthem.
